As one of the first in my family born in the United States, and someone who has faced immense challenges—from losing my father in a tragic accident to growing up with a terminally ill mother—I've seen firsthand how hard life can be. I've also seen how systemic failures disproportionately affect those who are most vulnerable in our society. My experiences have shaped who I am today and have inspired me to fight for a brighter, more just future for all of us.

I am running for Congress because I believe in a government that works for the people, not just the powerful few. Together, we can tackle the biggest issues facing our district and the country. Here are the issues I’m most passionate about

As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I know the challenges of growing up in an environment that often feels unwelcoming or even hostile. It’s a struggle that far too many people still face, especially in rural areas and conservative communities. That’s why I’m committed to fighting for full equality for all LGBTQ+ individuals.

• Protecting Transgender Rights: I will work to ensure that transgender individuals have the right to live freely without discrimination in employment, healthcare, and all areas of life.
• Ending Conversion Therapy: I’ll push for a federal ban on conversion therapy, a harmful practice that seeks to “change” a person’s sexual orientation or gender identity.
• Fighting for Equal Rights: I’ll stand firm in protecting marriage equality, advocating for equal protection under the law, and ensuring that LGBTQ+ individuals can live without fear of discrimination.

Gun violence has shattered too many lives, including my own, with tragic incidents impacting my community and schools. As a young person who has lived through school shootings and gun violence in my neighborhood, I am unwavering in my commitment to making our communities safer.

• Universal Background Checks: I support comprehensive background checks for all gun buyers to prevent firearms from falling into the wrong hands.
• Ban on Assault Weapons: We need to take military-grade weapons off our streets. I will fight for an assault weapons ban to prevent mass shootings and ensure our communities are safer.
• Mental Health Support: We must expand access to mental health services to help prevent violence before it occurs and support those in need.

Having come from a background in engineering, I understand the urgency of addressing climate change. As a future Congressman, I will push for policies that tackle climate change head-on and create sustainable, green jobs that benefit our community and the planet.

• Green New Deal: I support a comprehensive Green New Deal that prioritizes renewable energy, energy efficiency, and job creation through clean energy technologies.
• Protecting Our Environment: I’ll work to preserve our environment and combat pollution, ensuring a cleaner, healthier planet for future generations.
• Environmental Justice: It’s vital that we protect vulnerable communities who are disproportionately impacted by environmental hazards, particularly low-income neighborhoods and communities of color.

No one should have to choose between their health and their financial security. As someone who grew up without adequate healthcare, I am committed to fighting for a healthcare system that works for everyone, not just the wealthy.

• Medicare for All: I support a Medicare for All system that ensures everyone has access to affordable, high-quality healthcare.
• Mental Health Services: Mental health is health, and we must prioritize mental health services to ensure that no one is left without the support they need.
• Affordable Prescription Drugs: I will work to reduce the cost of prescription medications, making them more affordable for working families.'

As the child of immigrants, I know how important it is to create pathways to citizenship and ensure that our immigration system is fair and humane. Immigrants are a vital part of our nation’s strength and success, and we must protect their rights and opportunities.

• Path to Citizenship: I support providing a clear and fair pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, including DACA recipients, so that they can live without fear and contribute to the economy.
• Protecting Immigrant Families: We must prevent family separations and ensure that immigrant children are treated with dignity and respect.
• Reforming Immigration Policies: Our immigration policies need to be humane, efficient, and focused on keeping families together and allowing people to contribute to our communities.

Education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty, and we must ensure that every child has access to a quality education, no matter their background.

• Free Public College & Trade School: I believe that higher education should be a right, not a privilege. I’ll fight for tuition-free public colleges and trade schools so that every young person has the opportunity to succeed.
• Student Loan Forgiveness: We must relieve the burden of student loan debt and work toward a system that forgives student loans for those who pursue public service careers or face economic hardship.
• Improving K-12 Education: We need to invest in our K-12 schools, ensuring that all students have the resources they need to succeed, from books and technology to mental health support.

Growing up in a household where women constantly struggled, I know that we must fight for the rights and dignity of all women, especially those facing discrimination and unequal treatment.

• Reproductive Rights: I will stand firm in protecting a woman’s right to choose. If a woman is faced with an unwanted pregnancy, she should have the autonomy to make the decision that is best for her.
• Equal Pay for Equal Work: I’ll work to close the gender pay gap and ensure that women receive equal pay for equal work.
• Ending Gender-Based Violence: We need stronger laws and support systems to prevent and address gender-based violence, including domestic violence and sexual harassment.

My story is your story. I know what it means to struggle, to fight for opportunity, and to strive for a better future. As your representative, I will always put people first. I’ll fight for policies that reflect our shared values and that will help build a more inclusive, just, and sustainable future for everyone in our district.
